Istana Nurul Iman

The Istana Nurul Iman of Brunei is the biggest palace in the world. King of Brunei resides in this palace. This is also named as the biggest house in the world. It was built in the year of 1984 with expenditure of more than 400 million dollars. The king is considered as the Prime Minister of the country in Brunei. The palace spread in an area more than 20 lakh square feet. The domes of this palace are coated with Gold and all the things used by king from bath tub to the throne have been coated with gold. The palace consists of 1748 rooms and 564 chandeliers. The palace is decorated with a total of 51,000 electric bulbs. Five swimming pools and 18 elevators are also included in this palace. A large dining hall has been built in the palace for visitors which can accommodate about 5000 visitors at a time. The palace has about 200 horses which are preserved in sheds with air conditioning facility.





Visitors are not allowed Istana Nurul Iman of Brunei palace all over the year but can visit during three days of the Eid Ul Fitr, a famous festival of Muslim community. More than one lakh and ten thousand people visits this palace during the three days every year. King presents gifts for the visitors and even gifts money to the children.



The current king of Brunei is Sultan Hasaanal Bolkiah who is one of the richest mans in the world. The private flight of this king is the most luxurious in the world by having coating of gold on exterior. The king has more than 19 hundred high price range cars and also has 6 small flights and two helicopters. The king has made a record of owning the highest number of cars.
